Thought it was safe

I was in the clear

No reason to lie

Or have any fear

I heard a sound

And looked around

To find myself

Surrounded by

The darkest cloud.

 

The trees were falling

All over the place

Birds were flying

Stuck in a race

The road was winding

Bells were chiming

Lights went up

We came to a stop

And there it was.

 

The planet moaned

And shook the ground

Words were spoken

Faults were found

So many doubts

To cast about

You couldn’t believe

Such a sham

But such a relief.

 

The paint came off

The whole thing crumbled

My breath was gone

And then I stumbled

That was all

I had to fall

I closed my eyes

We heard the call

Our sweet demise.
